Pilates Mat Classes
I teach classical Pilates, structured for all levels of practice and focused on precision, flow, and breathing techniques. Exercises can be modified for students recovering from injury. My goal is to inspire students to:
  • Learn the many benefits of classical mat exercises by learning why and how each exercise benefits the body, mind, and spirit
  • Develop the tools--flexibility, strength, and stability--that promote increased functionality, strength, and serenity
  • Sharpen their skills to become their own teachers
  • Strengthen the body to prevent injury and/or increase mobility after injury
Class begins with the basics, progresses according to one's individual level, and ends with relaxation.
 
SOS/Stretch Out Stress
In this basic class, we stretch to relax the body, calm the mind, and soothe the soul. Stretching, combined with focused breathing, relaxation techniques, and meditative visualization, releases tension, reduces anxiety, and improves flexibility.
